（中央社台北4日電）德國之聲中文網報導，臺灣總統府3日晚間證實，總統馬英九7日將搭乘專機前往新加坡，與6日至7日對新加坡進行國是訪問的中國大陸國家主席習近平會面。這將是海峽兩岸65年來的重大突破。
臺灣總統府發言人陳以信表示，兩位總統將就兩岸議題交換看法。他還強調，此次會面的目的是「鞏固兩岸和平、維持臺海現狀」，但不會簽署任何協議，也不會發表聯合聲明。
臺灣行政院長毛治國與總統府秘書長曾永權已安排4日先後向立法院和立法院各黨團進行說明。馬英九也預定5日召開國際記者會，親自向大眾報告此行。
